As many reports have already pointed out, Apple will launch the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in India on October 17 starting at Rs.53,500 and Rs.62,500 respectively. However, this time around the information is official as it comes from Apple's partners for distribution -- Redington, Ingram Micro and Raashi peripherals. The 64GB version of the iPhone 6 will cost Rs.62,500, while the 128GB of the phone will be for Rs.71,500. The 64GB version of the iPhone 6 Plus will be for Rs.71,500 and the 128GB version of the phone will be for Rs.80,500.
Earlier on Sunday night Apple announced that the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus would be available in India from October 17. However, it said that consumers would be able to pre-order the device from October 7.
In its note to press Apple said, "iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, will be available in India beginning Friday, October 17 from an expansive network of Apple authorized resellers. Customers can pre-order iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus beginning Tuesday, October 7.
Sources aware of the launch plans told IndiaToday.in that Reliance and Airtel are planning midnight launch events for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on October 16. Back in 2011, when Apple launched the iPhone 4 Airtel and Aircel hosted a similar activity ahead of the launch.
